Powershop burst on to the scene in 2009 as a fully online electricity retailer. Today Powershop provides electricity to around 150,000 Kiwis across the country.
Powershop changes the way people buy their electricity. Its unique digital shop lets customers purchase their power wherever and whenever they want. It’s fun, it’s easy and it’s flexible. Special power discounts are available to purchase in the shop, helping customers to save even more.

- Powershop App: Powershop’s mobile app is available through the Apple App or Google Play stores. It lets you know how much power you’re using and what it costs. It also sends you an alert whenever a new special arrives, so you never miss out on savings.

Staying power
Powershop customers are eligible for a loyalty discount; Staying Power. The discount on your Standard Rate starts at 20% for new customers and increases by 1% every year, to a maximum of 25% off after five years. Special rates
Special rates are the rates you effectively pay if you buy your monthly Staying Power and all the monthly power pack specials. You can save even more by buying additional packs:
- Future Packs: The further out you buy, the bigger the discount on your standard rate
- Value Packs: Come in a range of sizes to give you a discount off your standard rate
- EV Packs: An exclusive powerpack for EV owners

Billing:
Powershop customers receive their bills via email or online. But you can check your account summary at any time to see how much power you’ve purchased against how much it is estimated you’ll use.
