Support for Medically Dependent Customers (MDCs)
If you or someone in your household relies on electricity for medical reasons, it’s important to let us know. This includes anyone who uses medical or other electrical equipment as part of their treatment, and where a power outage could cause serious harm or put their life at risk.
What You Need to Do
- Tell us if someone in your home is medically dependent on power.
- You and your doctor or healthcare provider must complete our Power Medical Dependency FormExternal Link, opens in a new tab.
- Email the completed form to support@2degreesbroadband.co.nz.
What Happens Next
- We’ll email you to confirm once you’re added to our medical register.
- We’ll contact you if we become aware of any planned power outages that could affect your property.

Payment Plans
If you’re finding it hard to pay your electricity bill, we can help you get back on track.
We can:
- Set up a payment plan that fits your budget.
- Help with repayment options if you have an overdue balance.
- Review your plan and suggest improvements if needed.
- Make sure you won’t be disconnected if you’re on a plan and making agreed payments.
We can also connect you with free financial mentoring and community organisations that can help with budgeting, planning, and other household challenges. With your permission, we’ll refer you and give you time to work with them, without the risk of disconnection while you’re engaging in support.
We’ll work with you and your support provider to help you stay on track.
